To Frank and all his loved ones:

Frank, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives, especially on that fateful day of 9/11 and in its aftermath where you contracted the deadly disease that robbed you of your life. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether or not you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Frank. Your memory is honored and revered today, the first anniversary of your death, and everyday.

May god be with you and your family. Know that many including me are very proud of how the entire law enforcement community of New York came together and showed the world what America is made of. It is made of men such as yourself who gave all for those you did not even know. I will shed a tear for you this day and will work to honor your memory. God Bless.

It is always a sad day to learn that another LEO has died as a result of an illness or injury sustained in the line of duty. May God have mercy on the soul's of all we have lost. Some day we will all meet again at Gods side but for those of us that responded to the WTC attack that September day it may be sooner than any of us had expected.

After losing loved ones, this poem has helped me through the tough times.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

Thank you for being a true hero. You will never be forgotten, even though I did not know you. I am amazed how selfless everyone was on 9/11 and the days after. Thank you for being there.
I have an 8 year old son that respects law enforcement and walks up to everyone in a uniform and thanks them. It is just an absolutely beautiful thing to watch. The smile on their faces are priceless. I wish he could have thanked you! To your wife, stepdaughter, family and friends, you were truly blessed to have known him I am sure. I want to thank you! I will pray for you and all of the families of people in uniform. Thanks you for giving me the honor of being able to write this to you!

Dear Franko,
There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about you. Every special moment in our lives makes me look up to heaven because I know you are there looking down on us, watching over us. We all miss you so very much. You were our best friend for over 26 years and all the memories we shared are relived every time Nilda and I are together. Sabrina is taking her driving test on Monday and she brought her favorite picture of you to help her. You were such an important part of our lives and will always continue to be.

I love you very much and am so grateful to have been a part of your life.

When the NYPD lost Frank they lost someone who was a true inspiration, a true hero and servant to the people of New York.

Frank's family lost a beloved son, husband, step-father, cousin, friend and hero to his entire family. He was truly the "light of our family". We all miss Frank so much each and everyday and we know that he is now resting in the peace which he so deserved. His bright light will shine in all of our hearts forever and ever. We wish with all of our hearts that he could be with us to share in all of our special moments but since he can't we are at peace with the fact that he is looking down on us from heaven and smiling.
