My deepest thoughts and prayers are with Officer Miktarian's wife, child, family, friends and co-workers. I was married to Alabama State Trooper Brian Nichols EOW 2/17/2002 and I am now married to Washington County Deputy Sheriff Aaron Carpenter. All of your C.O.P.S. family is here for you and hurting for you. We all became a family when our loved ones became police officers and now we have even a stronger bond when one of our family members goes down. We are here for you to help you along this journey you now have joined with us. God bless you all.

As a member of a small community that recently lost State Trooper David "Shawn" Blanton on June 17, 2008, in Canton, NC, I can not begin to express my feelings. It is so sad that a traffic stops have become so dangerous. Something needs to be done to protect our protectors in any situation!
My thoughts and prayers are with this family, community and all of law enforcement. As citizens, we cannot repay the sacrifices of these heroes.
I have taught my son, who is only 8, that when we see someone in uniform, we need to thank them for the job they do. He sometimes gets embarrassed until he sees the shock and joy on their faces. He understands that not everyone feels this way. So again, I want to thank you for the sacrifices that you, your family and friends make!
WE will continue to pray for all of you!

your loss is so similar to the way that our friend aj was lost. good family man, newborn child, and loved by his friends and coworkers. everything going for you. the last person you would expect this to happen to. totally unexpected. this is the worst time for everybody who knows you. it brings up a lot of memories of what we went through. it might not seem like it now but in a little while your friends will be able to look back and laugh about the good times everybody shared with you. its hard but time heals. good luck to your family and fellow officers. you will not be forgotten.

To Officer Miktarian's family and loved ones...Words are inadequate to describe the sadness that surrounds this terrible event which has had a ripple effect into the surrounding communities and among the brotherhood of officers everywhere. It has touched people that Joshua has never even met, including myself, and left many wishing they had made his acquaintance.

Please know that I lift you up in prayer as you go through this most difficult time now and in the years to come. I am certain that all who knew Josh were blessed by his friendship, love and compassion. May the Lord Jesus Christ uphold you today and in the days to folow.

The Final Inspection

The Police Officer stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, Police Officer.
How shall I deal with You?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The Police Officer squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because thouse of us who carry badges
Can't always be a saint."

"I've had to work most Sundays, and at
Times my talk was rough,
And sometimes I've been violent, because
The streets are awfully tough."

"But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills just got too steep."

"And I've never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears."

"I know I don't deserve a place
Amoung the folks here,
They never wanted me around, except to
Calm their fear."

"If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne
Where saints had often trod,
As the Police Officer waited quietly, for the
Judgement of his God.

"Step forward now, my Police OFficer. You've
Borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Farewell my brother, though I never met you; we are all still brothers; and because of that, I feel deeply for your loss. As A fellow K-9 officer, I understand how horrible all this must be for your family and my prayers go out to them as well, but my heart goes to your partner who I know will always be waiting for you to return to him so you two can go do the job. Only people like us would understand that terrible lonelieness. May the two of you be re-united when your partner finally makes his way through. Im sure it will be a joyous reunion. Rest well, my brother, you are missed.

One lost officer is too many. One lost husband, a lost father,
a son, brother, a friend, a lost link in the thin blue line. I am
so sad every time I read another Officer is lost. I desperately want to find words that bring comfort, words of
substance so those who have lost so much can anchor to the
thoughts. But there are no words adequate enough. It goes without saying that all who loved him will always remember him. It goes without saying that the life's work he chose
was difficult and did ultimately require far too much from
him.
I hope and pray that some good will come from this tragedy.
That triumph will be revealed to those closest to him. For
tragedy without triumph is somehow more painful. Officer
Miktarian may you rest in peace, play your music and smile
down on your friends and family who will need signs from
you that all will be well.
