Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Richard M. Francis

From what I read, you were a man much needed down here. I can't understand why you were taken... They must need some leadership on the beat in heaven pretty bad right now.

Thank you

It's always difficult to hear of any officer paying the ultimate sacrifice. However, your good deeds and dedication will nver be forgotten as well as the countless hours put in to protect the city when you could have been with your family. You can tell the type of life a person has led by the good things people have to say. Believe me there has been nothing but good things said about you. Being in law enforcement, I know it's a thankless job but it is a very rewarding job; thats why you loved it so much. Both my father and brother are Chicago Police Officers and you have been the topic since that tragic morning. May God bless you and your family. Rest in Peace Officer FRANCIS.

Mr. Francis,

I am so sad that you were stolen from us, but happy that I was able to work the Mids with you in 018 many years ago. You were always kind, there when needed, and a true gentleman. I know where you have gone too, so I will put my prayers towards your Family and the Members CPD. I am honored to have known you in life; you set a great example for younger officers to follow.

Only God knows the reasons for these awful happenings. My son who was 37, was shot in the head EOW 2/7/2008. I know my life has been altered forever.
I think of the wonderful Chicago Police who came to St. Louis for the visitation of my son on Feb. 11 and I pray that Officer Francis was not one of those men.
I will keep you in my prayers and reach out for a support group to keep you steady at this unsteady time.
My heart bleeds for you and your family. God will help you thru as he did me.

As a citizen of Chicago whos husband is a city work I would like to extend my sympathy to the Francis Family. It is rare you hear about people and policemen with his character, pride and hard work ethic. Thank You Mr. Francis for doing the job you do. You are an angel and rest with the Lord. Your everlasting life in heaven helps us here in the crazy world feel comfort. Please help our hearts to heal and you will never be forgotten. You walked as a Hero among men.
