Reflections for Correctional Officer Jose Rivera

For you, Officer Rivera:

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.

-Psalm 23:6

To the friends and family:

He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds.

-Psalm 147:3

My prayers and condolences to the family and friends of this young, brave hero. And my heartfelt appreciation to him, not only for setting aside his life to serve this great nation, but also to make the ultimate sacrifice in the call of duty.

At ease soldier, at ease.

I am so deeply sadened by the loss of Officer Rivera. My prayers are with his family, friends, and co-workers. It is always sad when we loose one of our own, but we must take comfort in knowing that God had another plan for him and he is in a better place right now looking down at everyone who loves him.

CORRECTIONAL OFFICER'S FAREWELL
We all know it can happen
When we put our colors on.
It only takes an instant,
Then one of us is gone.

Day to day we walk our beat,
In god we put our faith
Cause we're the law inside the wall,
We keep the public safe.

You've done the job that few can do,
Your shift is at an end.
Farewell my brother, Rest in peace,
on you we could depend.
