No words I could ever say would even ease a bit of pain for the wife and small baby left behind. Always remember your Husband and Daddy did a job most are scared to do and the rest wouldn't know how. He was an American Hero that is now safe from everything and will never be hurt again. You will be together once again and all of this pain will be forgotten. I am truly sorry.

It's so sad to see another Trooper's death at the hand of a previously convicted felon. May justice be served swiftly, and may his family heal, if that is indeed possible. Let those near them gather 'round and be a lifetime of positive influence to the child who will never know its father.

David Bossard (Retired from NC)
former Buncombe County NC Deputy
