My sympathies to Deputy Boehm's family, friends and colleagues. and also to the local firefighter who also gave his life. Having directed traffic on the highway during accidents or other emergencies, I know how dangerous it can be. May they both rest in peace and may God watch over their families.

Rest in Peace Deputy Boehm. You served as a hero for 10 years. Our prayers go out to your family, fellow officers and friends. You will not be forgotten. Your end of watch comes almost a year to the day of one of our Howard County MD officers - also struck down by traffic. We will take it from here.

I've known Steve since he started with the Sheriff's Office and I worked with him for awhile on patrol. Steve could make anybody laugh, even if you were having a bad day. My thoughts and prayers go out to Steve's family and friends as we get through this. We all love ya "Bam-Bam"... 1102 to S-375, R.I.P

Although I didn't know Deputy Boehm personally, I am a native of North Carolina and feel a personal loss as well. I grew up watching men and women like Deputy Boehm and they are the reason I too pursued my life long goal of becoming a police officer. He was a very honorable man and may he rest in peace. Thank you for keeping this world a little safer and thank you for your sacrafice. You will never be forgotten brother. May God bless you and your loved ones.

Note:The driver of that truck should be charged with Felony death by vehicle. Regardless of the circumstances, heavy smoke or not, if he could not see good enough to drive safely he should had pulled over and waited for it to clear..what kind of justice is that?

The following is a Fallen Officer's Prayer that was found while a Pueblo Police Officer visited the N.Y.P.D. Museum & Ground Zero in 2005 Officer's Prayer

Fallen Officer’s Prayer

I Never Dreamed It Would Be Me.
My Name For All Eternity.
Recorded Here At This Hallowed Place.
Alas, My Name, No More My Face.
'In The Line of Duty' I Hear Them Say.
My Family Now The Price To Pay.
My Folded Flag Stained With Their
Tears.
We Only Had Those Few Short Years.
The Badge No Longer On My Chest.
I Sleep Now In Eternal Rest.
My Sword I Pass To Those Behind And
Pray They Keep This Thought In Mind.
I Never Dreamed It Would Be Me.
And With A Heavy Heart And Bended
Knee, I Ask For All Here From The
Past...
Dear God, Let My Name Be The Last.
TO ALL WHO KNEW DEPUTY BOEHM GOD BLESS YOU

I received this very sad email notification from my NC COPS President over the weekend. A few weeks ago, I returned from National Police Week in D.C. to honor my brother who was killed last May. There is incredible support thru NC COPS and the NLEOMF for all family and friends to help you deal with the tragic loss of Deputy Boehn. The pain never goes away, but let the joy of knowing someone who served his community selfessly keep you feeling strong and proud. God has him now and is putting him to good work up there!

Peace and Blessings to you all,
Meggen

In times like this our words as mere men and women are so inadequate. For this reason, we must look to Jesus, the true and the living God, for comfort!
