Reflections for Police Officer Todd Allen Bahr

Hey Todd - it's been 1 year since you were taken from us to spend eternity with our Lord. I think of you everyday and miss you so much. I went home last week for a ceremony the PD had for you and it was awesome! I can't believe everything the PD does for you and our family - they are wonderful! I still can't get over how much you are loved and missed. We are getting by...sad...but are still living. I can't wait to see you again!
All my love!

Todd,

Can't believe it's been a year and I haven't written you yet...just haven't had the words. I still remember the last time we talked. You bought me an ice cream cone and all I had was a 5 and you said don't worry about it...I said I'd get you next time. Wish I'd had the chance!

I always thought you were a great officer; I never knew you to work less than 100% speed or to dodge a call. Wish I'd gotten to know you better outside the PD and met your wonderful family before your service.

I keep your blue line on my locker and talk about you and what happened whenever I get the chance so that nobody forgets you and in the hopes your story can maybe help save another officer.

Well man, briefing is about to start so I've gotta get in there. Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you today, and I miss you!

I just can't get over all the wonderful thoughts and sayings people wrote about my brother - before and even months after he's been gone. I can't believe how far Todd's arms reached. I can't thank you all enough for all the prayers you have sent out to our family. God had his reasons for taking Todd home so soon. Todd changed so many lives, while he was here and after he died. So many people found the Lord when Todd left this earth and I'm thankful for him for that. It makes it a bit easier knowing he did not die in vain.

I want to thank my parents Del and Kathy for loving us and raising us to be good people. (at least I'd like to hope we are!) I love you both, and I know Todd loved you and knew you loved him with all your heart.

May God bless you all and Thanks again!

I'm looking forward to the day I get to see my big brother again. I Love you Todd...

'It's not how you die that makes you a hero, It's how you live your life.'
Todd was like a father to me, he was there for me since I was born. I still remember going to Damage Inc. everyday after school to see Todd with my dad. Chaos was always there to keep me entertained. There's not a day that goes by when I don't think of Todd & Stephanie & what great people they are.
Todd, you lived a great life, and even though we miss you, it was a part of God's plan for all of our lives for this to happen. God used you here & you have touched so many peoples lives. May you rest in peace Todd. I can't wait to see you again someday <3

I miss you, #337. You'll always be in my heart.

To the family and friends of Officer Todd Bahr and his fellow officers, and most especially to Todd:

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Officer Bahr was tragically killed.

To Todd's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in the Bay Area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Todd gave to his community and the citizens of Virginia, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on June 6, 2008

To those who loved Officer Bahr, my heart goes to you all. Know that you're not alone in this journey you walk. I lost my fiance in the line of duty January 2003 and my world was forever changed. It's been a long hard road, and even as time as gone forward, and I've found many reasons and ways to smile, I still have not forgotten the man that he was. Dennis was a beautiful person and he forever has a part of my heart, just as I'm sure Todd will always be a part of yours.

It takes a special person to put their lives on the line everyday to make this world a little safer for us all. I know many of these men never would've thought of themselves as "heroes" but they were in so many ways. It's sad that it they had to lose their lives for some of us to see that. Having said that, thank you Officer Bahr for helping to make this world a better place. You will not be forgotten here in Winnipeg. I know this isn't a very manly thing to do, but if you happen to run into Dennis up there, please give him a big hug for the kids and I. Dennis was a good man and we miss him more than words can say.

Wishing those who loved you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne
