I am Patrolman Jody Smith. I did not know Shane personally. He was a friend of my friend Officer C. Ladd of the Monteagle Police Department. My heart goes out to your family. My Department wishes to extend its deepest condolences. We lost a brother this week and you will Never be forgotten Shane. You remain in our hearts and prayers. God has called you home and brother you will truly be missed. To Shane's wife and children. Your father was a great man. He would have done anything for anyone. He took pride in his job and was considered an outstanding Officer. I drove out to the funeral from Selmer Tennessee. Our Department takes the brotherhood very seriously. If there is anything I or we can do please let us know. God be with you Deputy Shane Tate. As well as your family.
