If my math is right, Investigator Cleaves entered law enforcement at 21 years old. What a loss! But greater than the loss are her life and her legacy. I thank God for her and all the ways she blessed world. Lord, give comfort and peace to her family and all whose lives she touched.

Laura, her husband Steve and I started in LA 32 years ago. She was a pioneer in woman in Law Enforcement and hard working her entire career. She was a devoted Wife and Mother and great Investigator. she was a great Mounted Unit instructor for our Dept. and a gifted horsewoman. She will be missed in her community of Santa Ynez also.
