Reflections for Jailer J. C. Landrum

Rest in peace always and know that your service and sacrifice will never, ever be forgotten by your law enforcement brethren.

Thank you so much to those of you who have posted here. And thank you J.C. Landrum (a.k.a. my grandfather) for your service. I never met you, but your legacy lives on. Though I have never served, I and my husband are big supporters of our local Police Dept. and appreciate all they do. May God continue to bless all law enforcement personnel.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 58th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

You were killed by a death row inmate who had already killed another law enforcement officer. Your story is a perfect example of why the death penalty in California should not be repealed as our voters are being asked to do in November.

Rest In Peace.
