Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Special Agent Aaron Garcia

Officer Garcia, may God's perpetual light shine down upon you and your family.

THE MONUMENT
By Sergeant George Hahn, L.A.P.D. (retired)

I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face

"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years

The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind

I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last

I always found Aaron to be of good cheer, whenever I talked with him; whether doing business or discussing the day, even if I had awakened him by accident off-call. He always spoke well of his fellow officers and family.

"Remembering is an act of resurrection, each repetition a vital layer of mourning, in memory of those we are sure to meet again. ~Nancy Cobb, in "In Lieu of Flowers"

Aaron, you will be missed - But not Forgotten.

My heart goes out to the family of Special Agent Aaron Garcia. Our prayers are with the family. I have been with U.P. for 29 years and understand the many dangers of working on the railroad. The long hours you work and the large territory you have to cover. To Aaron's Mother and Father I understand your grief. I lost my son on Sept. 12, 2004. He was a Deputy Sheriff and He too died in the Line of Duty. May you find peace and comfort in the arms of our LORD. May Gods Blessings be upon your Family.
