Aaron, I remember the first time I indirectly met you in 1996. You had given me a ticket because my car was parked in the alley next Imperial Valley Press. I was very upset because I didn’t have any parking tickets before and it was my first one. About a year later, you walked into my office because you needed communication services. Since then our relationship flourished because you were like a brother to me. Like you, since the age of 3, I wanted to be a Policeman. You guided me toward making the career change and I started taking Police Officer Reserve classes at Imperial Valley College. You encouraged me to work at Imperial PD as a Reserve and I started in 2002. I remember I had gone to your house and you helped me order my duty equipment. I remember going on ride-a-longs with you and I enjoyed all the stories you told me. I wanted to thank you for driving up 900+ miles to Eureka to pin me on my graduation from the police academy. I still remember your big smile and your eyes squinting shut as you pinned on my badge. I know you were proud of me! You were my Mentor, my FTO, my best man at my wedding and for all those things I thank you. I just wanted to tell you how beautiful your services were and I will always have you in my heart. I will miss you walking down the halls at the PD drumming on the walls as you walked past. Thank you for being my brother and having such a big impact in my life. Please keep me safe and tell my mother I love her and miss her too. Rest in Peace, forever our fallen brother.
