South Carolina has lost yet another Hero to this violent world in which we live. May his family, friends, and co-workers find comfort and peace in God's wonderful promises during this tragic time. I know and understand what you all are feeling and facing now. I, too, tragically lost my son, Lance Corporal Jonathan W. Parker, South Carolina Highway Patrol, on May 16, 2005.

May the Lord comfort all of you in the days ahead.

It is always sad to hear about an officer killed in the line of duty, but even though the family will miss him dearly. God loved Howell more. Now go ahead and cry, but also remember to rejoice thinking of him in the arms of Jesus. And live that you may see him again. God bless each of you. My thoughts and prayers shall be with you.
