I remember when you came out of the academy and started on the road; it wasn't long before you were brought into 911 and introduced to "your dispatchers." Being the pranksters that we are, especially Alaina, it didn't take long for us to start giving you a hard time......hince the nick-name Rooster. How awesome that you just fell right in there and started calling yourself the rooster and it became your trademark. The past 4 mos. our shifts spent alot of time together and you, Justin, Efran, and even Edmond became like our brothers. You were a great guy, an awesome deputy, and a genuine person. Though I resigned a week before your accident, I had looked forward to a long friendship with all of you. I will miss you greatly and my prayers are with your family and your "guys". Rest in peace, Rooster.

Robert as I sit here and read everything I still dont know what to write. I can remember the last time i talked to you and wished i'd known it was going to be my last. I think i'd said more than see u later rooster. Things wont ever be the same again. Every time were at the training building for SRT im sure i'll mispronounce every plane I see since your not there to tell me what kind they are. I've had a lot of time on my hands since i've been on vacation and I look back on the times we have hung out around the camp fire at my house or at Hobbit Hoagies joking around the table. I never imagined when Justin Bedwell (DCSO 19) & Robert (Fallen Officer) entered the radio room at 0625 hours on May 1, 2008, this would be the last time I spoke to him. My heart is deeply saddened because because his death was so unexpected and such a tragedy. His death while on duty is a communications officers worst fear!!! We(911 operators) sit behind the radio ever day & ultimately we develop a bond with personnel of each agency we serve and consider those men and women who put their lives on the line our extended family. When a family member is taken away regardless of the circumstances, a link to chain is gone,,, NEVER to be replaced. Robert's family will forever be in my heart and always in my prayers. He will be greatly missed.
