Trooper Burns stopped me on Highway 155 near Linden one evening in June 2005 as I was traveling back to Tyler from Arkansas. He wanted to let me know that my front licence plate was not posted, and that I needed to put it on the vehicle. Afer the business part and he knew that I was a bank regulator, we visited briefly about the direction of interest rates and his plans for a new home. He impressed me greatly that evening as a highly professional law enforcement officer and a kind and caring individual. I appreciate his service to the State of Texas and will never forget the ultimate sacrifice that he has now made for me and so many others. His family will remain in my prayers. May he rest in peace in God's heavenly kingdom.
