I was on duty last night when the statewide broadcast came out. It was as if I were punched in the stomache. I stayed vigilant with all the other officers in my area and around the state for that blue Intrepid -- but it never came to our city.
I am sure that you were welcomed into Heaven as a HERO. My prayers and thoughts are with your family, friends, DPS and law enforcement family as well as with the person who was first on scene and all persons who responded.
Rest in Peace Sir, we will continue the watch.
