Our family is praying for Trooper Burns and his family, friends, and fellow officers. May God be with all of the Law Enforcement Personel while searching, looking, and watching for this cruel human being that took an innocent life and a wonderful man from his family and our community. He was and is truly a hero. It devastes me to know that anyone could be so cruel and to such a wonderful human being. Trooper Burns truly touched many lives as well as mine. I did not know Trooper Burns personally, but I was fortunate enough to meet him a few weeks ago while he was conducting a routine traffic stop involving my husband in Shady Shores( Old Avinger Rd). He was very dedicated and professional man. He had a beautiful spirit about him. He is truly an angel of God's. I know how hard it is to come to terms of a lose of a friend, brother, fiance. I have dealt with it. Put all of your trust in the Lord and he will see you through. There is so much love there. Trooper Burns and family you are in our prayers and thoughts. May God Bless you all. Thank you for your dedication to the safety of us all. Your Brothers have it now Trooper Burns.

May God Bless,
Ami Swanson and family

To the family of Trooper Burns,

Words cannot express the grief we feel for you during this time of loss. Although I spent 16 years in law enforcement, and my life was put in danger, I was always proud to wear the badge.
Always know that Trooper Burns died a HERO, serving our state, protecting our citizens, and you should know he died doing what he loved.
To his wife, I Mrs. McKinzie can't imagine your feelings, and grief at this time of loss, but am here for you anytime. There were many times Mark almost did not come home....but again your husband died a HERO and I am proud of him and you for your support of his career.
Our love and prayers are with you always.
May God take the burden of grief from your heart and bring out the joy of knowing he is with our Lord and Savior.
