Reflections for Trooper James Scott Burns

Trooper Burns,
I read the story of your tragic death. I am especially saddened to learn the suspect is a former L.E.O. None, and I do mean, NONE, of your fellow Officers shall rest until justice is brought to your cowardly killer.

To your family--My condolences, and prayers, and know that this Trooper is a Hero.

Brother,
I am deeply wounded to see another member of our family joining the Lord in heaven. Please meet the rest of us at the great gates when our time comes. Please know that we pray for your family now. I pray that the Lord gives them peace in knowing that you sacrificed your life for a principle far beyond that of mortal men. May your child grow up knowing that you gave all protecting the rest of the "sheep" from harm. God Speed Brother.

Rest in peace Trooper Scott Burns. We will keep your family and Department in our prayers. We will not rest until the suspect is caught. You just dont kill one of our own and get away with it, especially a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper. I have so much respect for this agency and its Troopers. God Bless you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with Trooper Burns' widow, daughter, parents, other family members, friends, fellow Troopers, and all who mourn his passing. Know that many grieve with you and that the extended DPS "family" will always be there for you. Many are angels in human form. Your loved one will forever be remembered and honored for how he lived, the work he did, and for the sacrifice he made helping protect the citizens of our State. It saddens me greatly that his baby will not have him physically with her, but he will help watch over her, and she will know and love her Hero Dad through all who love him.
May God give you comfort and strength now and always,

I'm sure I will get to know you and look forward to meeting you when the Good Lord calls me home. Trooper Burns, God Speed Brother.....
