Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Ulysses Grant Holliday

Great Great Grandpa Holliday, I would have loved to have met you. Us Hollidays continue to bleed blue as I was a deputy sheriff in Florida where my father, Randy Holliday, was a deputy. I am now with the FBI and my husband is a police officer. Even though I never got to meet you, you are never forgotten as your memory lives on. Rest In Peace, we’ve got it from here.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 105th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace

Great Grandpa, I wish I had gotten a chance to meet you. I have often thought about what it would be like to sit down with you and just have a conversation. I think you would be proud to know that I have been a Deputy Sheriff myself, for over twenty years. Your memory has been an inspiration for me as your picture hangs in my family room.
