Your mother sang the most beautiful and inspirational song Still I Rise at Parents Retreat in Arkansas on Sunday. It is a moment that I will never forget for this song touched me profoundly. You are loved and missed.

Dedication and sacrifice. You dedicated you life to the service of others and you made the ultimate sacrifice. It was my pleasure to know you, work with you and call you an ALPHA Brother. Hopefully I will be worthy enough to meet you in the Omega Chapter

He was more than a coworker to everyone that knew him. We laughed, we cried, and we lived. He was, is, and always will be my brother.

wow i just saw this on a tv show called Crime 360 that airs on The A&E Channel, now its shown on net flicks as well. i just wanted to leave a comment and ask God to bless his family. its always so sad to hear of anyone loosing a loved one or their life for that fact to senseless violence. and its just all that more more for it to be a situation of this degree. People when will we stop and think before we do. This man was doing his job trying his best to protect us, this makes no sense. He gave his all and did His best. Please lets stop this and show more love to one another.

God Bless.

We miss you and think of you every day brother, but today and tomorrow especially we pause to remember your sacrifice for us and our country. The District just isn't the same without you greeting me at shift change and giving me a chuckle. Rest well good and faithful servant, we'll be together again soon.

To the Family of Officer Owens-

First let me say, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your family member.

I am a Police Officer in Tallahassee Florida and will be riding to honor the service and memory of your family member in the Police Unity Tour this May. I, along with approx. 1000 other Law Enforcement Officers will be riding (bicyles) from Virginia Beach to Washington D.C. over a 3 day period.

We will arrive at the National Law Enforcement Memorial and will be there during the Candlelight Vigil for all Fallen Law Enforcement Officers.

I would like the oppurtunity to meet you in D.C. if you will be there.

Derek, thank you for your service to the citizens of Cleveland and sacrifice to our honorable profession.
