Trooper Kelly-Borgognone,

I met your husband and brother at "A Drive to Remember" celemony in Las Vegas, honoring you and my husband, along with 190 other officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

It was truly a blessing to know your husband has faith that you are in Heaven and that we will all be together again one day. It has been two years since Henry went before us and I would not be living life to the fullest if God wasn't my strength and shield.

I will keep your family and friends in my prayers as they continue to celebrate you.

Your Sister in Christ,

Dawn Prendes

As Kara's brother, one of the proudest days of my life was the day that Kara transfered from the Parole and Probation Division to the Highway Patrol Divsion. That day she was not only my sister, but now a co-worker. I had worked for the Nevada Highway Patrol for 11 years at that point. I remember hearing some of my co-workers, say how proud and honored they were that Kara was now going to be a Trooper and work on their shift. Today, I met with Dirk (Kara's husband) and I gave him your handgun. It was one of the toughest thing I have had to do yet. You are definitely missed sis. Your guys on graveyard are making it through. I think about you every hour of every day. On Wednesday, I took Ashlyn to softball practice with Krista. She definitely has you softball skills, even at 3 yrs. old. I love you Sis, Chris.
