To any of the new officers coming in 9 years later...I tell the story of you coming in that morning to my evidence office because you were gonna book a no no into my evidence vault. I can still see you barely peeping in and saying "Brooks! You're gonna kick my ass!" I recall every detail of that morning. You're still missed and remembered, Sister. #727...dance with the angels and keep watching over us.

Thinking of you lately, a lot. Super emotional, I think it's because of Christmas. It's been 8 years since we last celebrated Christmas together, when you, dad, and my mom got me an iPhone. Ashy is so big and reminds me so much of you, it's crazy. Wish you were here to meet your grandson and Raymond. Dad LOVES being a grandpa still can't believe he is one but he loves Jayson and Jayson just adores the crap out of him. Ashy is the best auntie ever, taught Jayson how to stick his tongue out! I really miss you, and wish you were here. Even just to have one last laugh or one last Christmas morning. I cherish the time we had together. You are tattooed on my back forever, as your memory will forever live on. Give my Papa Bob a kiss for me. I love you Kara, with all my heart.

While stranded and broken down south of Minden Nv. a terrible accident happened at the top of the hill when a Nevada State Trooper came by and gave me his supper. Thank you State of Nevada's best. May God bless. That was way above and beyond the call of duty on your part.

Kara,
I never met you nor do I know your extended family or police family but i remember the first time i met Dirk and your two beautiful girls. We were at kids camp - only Blair was there with Dirk - it was the then that we made a strange connection with yours and my husband Tom's badge numbers. His was 272. Years later i still see the combination of those numbers EVERYWHERE and its become a little inside joke between me and Blair. I saw it again yesterday and I've been waking up to 7:27 for the last couple weeks. Blairs life is blooming with so many blessings as is Dirks i can only imagine that these numbers are continuously making themselves visible because of your presence. I'll reach out a little more. God bless and continue watching over us - tell Tom i said hi - i know he's next to you - just not sure why yet.

Kara,

As I prepare to tell your story again tomorrow, I have been reading about how much you are loved and now missed. It was a terrible night that night and I wished I could have done more for you then. I wanted you to know that in telling your story to the newest members of our division, I will tell it with great pride of being your fellow co worker. Your enthusiasm was amazing and you really did do great things with the patrol.

It has been 5 years sis. Even today, our co-workers still talk about you and some of your great stories on graveyard. You are so badly missed. Krista and Kayla still send balloons to heaven with messages for you. I see a lone dove and immediately say "Hi Sis!!" Ashlyn is doing great. She is so big now. Playing basketball and having fun. She is definitely your daughter. She is so smart. I Love you and thing of you every day!!

727 will live forever in our hearts!

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones today. Continue to watch over all of them and protect them. You will never be forgotten by those that really love and care about you.

"No person is ever truly alone.
Those who live no more,
Whom we we loved,
Echo still within our thoughts,
Our words, our hearts,
And what they did,
And who they were,
Becomes a part of all that we are now, Forever."

Kara -
Your birthday is coming up and you've been in my mind a lot lately. We're starting to think about planning our 20 year reunion - and it just hit me today that you will not be there. I can't imagine it. I hope that you will be with us in spirit - I will have to take over your job of teasing with love.
I was looking through some old notebooks and found one of those stupid 70's looking people we used to draw that you had signed - "Kara K. the king, the one who rocks" and I laughed out loud. You do rock Kara.
Please continue to look out for all of us from above.
Missing you so much! Nedster
