Reflections for Police Officer Shawn Newlin

To Officer Newlin's family and friends,

I have served in funeral escorts before, on the military side as well as police.

Shawn was a volunteer. He volunteered to honor someone by serving as the protector of that persons family so they could pay honor and respect in turn.

Shawn strikes me as a man who would give you the shirt off his back and his last dime if it helped. Protect and serve ran in his blood, even if he never uttered those words aloud.

"Greater love has no man than this, that a man gives up his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

Celebrate Shawn for his life every day and remember him for all his contributions to his family, friends and community.

May the Lord Jesus bless you all.
