Christopher, I never got a chance to know you, but from what I've heard you were an awesome young man. While we greive your life was taken too soon, you are in a better place now. I attended your life celebration and Rev. Dr. Richardson made sure you were sent off like a king. Your parting from this world, although tragic, serves as a wake up call and lesson for us all. I look forward to meeting you paroling the gates of heaven. Until we meet.....

Detective Ridley,
You died doing your job, some older man couldnt defend himself and you jumped in. You did what any good dedicated and brave police officer would have done, But unfourtunately, you made the ultimate sacrifice. You are the example to your vocation and a hero to all. May god bless you and your family.

RIP Brother........

As I sit here looking at the picture of Detective Ridley which was displayed on yesterday's Funeral Program, I see a calm, serene and gentle person, smiling. For me, Chris' soul is captured by that picture. While I cannot say that I knew him well, on those occasions when I saw him he was friendly, polite and respectful. He was not only an example for the young men of today, he was an example of what true heroism is all about--he lost his life while off duty and while trying to save the life of someone he did not even know. My prayers are with his parents and all of his family members.
The back of the Funeral Program says: "Notice of Change of Address: I have moved. . .I don't have a telephone yet, but just call God...He is listed in the Good Book on every page. . ."

Rest in Peace, Detective Ridley
