Your heroism and service is honored today, the 99th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

It has been 97 years and you are still not forgotten. Rest in peace, Officer McWilliams, we have the watch.

The Correctional Officers’ Prayer

Lord, I ask for courage...
Courage to face my own fears.
Courage to take me where others will not go.

I ask for strength...
Strength of the body to protect others.
Strength of spirit to lead others.

I ask for dedication...
Dedication to my job to do it well.
Dedication to my community to keep it safe.

Give me, Lord, concern...
For all those who trust me and
Compassion for all those who need me.

And, please, Lord...
Through it all,
Be at my side.

Officer McWilliams,
It has taken over 96 years, but you are finally being honored. I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Indiana. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement then that of a Corrections Officer.
