Jarrod, Rolling Thunder took place last weekend. I still remember our ride to Rolling Thunder on the Harleys in 2007! That was a great feeling being an American and seeing the people and flags at the overpasses during the ride into the city. You are a great American and are missed very much. Today we ride Harleys to earn money for a monument in memory of you and those who have fallen in the line of duty. We all miss you very much!!!!

I think of you often.
I read and watch about the trail of your killer and waiting for his sentence to come out. Unfortunately no matter what he gets, we wont get you back. I just get so angry every time I hear someone defending him, or making up an excuse about something the department must of done wrong. I just know you were doing what you needed to do and what you should of been doing. You went by the book. ha ha ha EXCEPT WHEN IT CAME TO SPEEDING TO A CALL ha ha ha J/K.
God will remind Ryan Frederick everyday what he did!
When they put the board on military it made me smile to see your face everyday! I make sure to send love your way each time I pass by.
Just wanted to take the time to let you know, you will always be remembered and always missed. :)
Ps. I seen your wife, she looks beautiful and seems to be doing good. She is a strong woman!!!Your children are so beautiful!!!

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

To the family and friends of Det. Shivers I am very sorry for your loss. I did not know Det. Shivers because I am an officer in Florida. I along with other great officers perform entries for search warrants every week. I can tell you this, It takes only the Bravest, most Dedicated officer to conduct a search warrant. I don't have to tell you Det. Shivers is a hero because you already know that. What I think you should know and take great pride in is that I among every officer considers Det. Shivers a Hero even though we never met. Again, I am very sorry and my thoughts and prayers are with all family, friends, and co-workers. And for Detective Shivers I know your looking down on all of us from a higher place, and I just want to say Thank You for being a Hero in every way. God Bless

A year ago today one of the truly great people i have met was murdered. Jarrod was a great man, husband, DAD, detective, and friend! I was lucky enough to get close to Jarrod and his family the last several years. Not one day goes by that I don't think about my buddy. Tomorrow nite the 17th I am going to have a few in memory of you Jarrod. I wish you were here to give me that breathalyzer test, like you did at my party that time. I know you could not believe it when i beat the machine and only blew a .06! I miss you buddy. Your Friend Always, Mike Packert

TO THE FAMILY OF JARROD SHIVERS,
I'M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. WHEN I SAW THE STORY OF SHIVERS ON THE NEWS IT BROKE MY HEART AND BROUGHT BACK A LOT OF SAD MEMORIES. MY BROTHER WAS ALSO KILLED THE SAME WAY IN 2003, HE LEFT BEHIND A WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN, HE WAS ONLY 30 YRS OLD AND ALSO WORKED AS AN INVESTIGATOR IN VA. PLEASE KNOW THAT MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND KNOW THAT SHIVERS WILL ALWAYS BE LOOKING OVER YOU ALL. IT IS SO SAD TO LOOSE SUCH GREAT MEN THAT ARE TRUE HEROS!
