As my VA license plate says "Heros Live Forever". You are a HERO! And we as law officers will never forget our heros. May you rest in peace.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family as well as the rest of our police "family" during this difficult time. We never got to work together, but you were always cool when I'd see you during shift change and then when you went to SIS. You were a good role model for what a police officer should aspire to be and this community owes you and your family a debt of gratitude for your service. You paid the "ultimate price" that evening and we will never forget it. Go with God brother, we'll take it from here...

I knew Jarrod for several years. Jarrod will always be remembered by me as being both a hard charger and someone who was always willing to listen and learn. I don't think I ever saw him when he wasn't smiling. You will be missed brother.

Just like there is no "I" in TEAM, there is no "I" in Shvers.

Shvers is the "Special" in Special Weapons And Tactics. He LOVED S.W.A.T.

Need tape or 550 chord, ask Shvers.

Need storage shelves built on the equipment truck, ask Shvers.

Need someone to coordinate the new vest order, ask Shvers.

Need gear off the truck, no need to ask Shvers, he already got it.

Need help cleaning the range, no need to ask Shvers, he's already doing it.

Need ANYTHING!, ask Shvers!

You'll never find a better teammate. We'll miss you bro.

Jarrod,

It was a great Honor to have worked a long side you. You were always there when others needed you no matter what the request was. You possessed the ability to clam situations that appeared to be out of hand even in the mist of total chaos. You were a great Officer as well as a friend. May you rest in peace and rest assure we will watch over your family as you watch over us.

Badge, Vest and Gun
Ever at the ready.
Be Prompt, alert and resourceful
Remain calm, sure and steady.

All these things are asked of us
As we watch over you and yours.
Protect them and Respect them
Make them feel safe and secure.

Up and down their streets
Through their cities and states
We boldly walk that thin blue line
We bring peace, where there is hate.

We honorably accept this charge
Knowing full well the dangers
We lay our lives on the line
So you stay safe from strangers.

We are fathers and mothers
Sisters and Sons
Brothers and Daughters
But above all, we are One.

Although wrapped in Blue
Our hearts still bleed red
One of us has been taken
Senselessly, another dead.

I won’t be home tonight
Please understand why
It’s not that I don’t love you
That’s exactly the reason why.

I’ve made the ultimate sacrifice
I gave my life for them
Now I’ll watch over you always
Until we meet again.
