I was born and raised in Chesapeake. My Family still lives there. You gave your life in the ultimate sacrifice and for that I thank you. Watch over us all and patrol proudly on the golden streets of heaven because your service is complete here. May God be with you and your family as well as your fellow officers. Keep an eye on the rest of us as we continue to walk the thin blue line.

Shivers, we are going to miss your humorous way to brighten up even the coldest days. Your sense of duty was always above and beyond in my book. You made the ultimate sacrifice but rest assured you will not be forgotten by your brothers and sisters. Your memory will live on.

I am able to sleep peacefully in my bed at night because of the strong people like you. Detective Shivers- Thank you for your many years of service and for daring to face the people in the world like the person who took you from us. You, your family, and your friends will always be in my thoughts and prayers. To Mrs. Shivers and children- may you always feel his love from above, his strength during times of weakness and his pride for what you will become. To the Chesapeake Police Department- Thank you for also serving our streets and keeping us safe. My thoughts are with you all too during this horrific time. May you rest in peace Detective Shiver.
