I AM A WARRIOR
by Jon F. Hooper

I stand with God. I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing,
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of joy,
For now,
I stand with God.

Officer Nicholson
Thank you for your service, rest in peace my brother. Watch over the rest of us from your heavenly perch.

To the Family and girlfriend of Officer Nicholson

Your family are in my families prayers and god bless you. This is a dark time, which my family is just starting to make it thru it with the death of my future son in-law Josh Norris (EOW Jul 5th 2007). I know you can not see pass the grief right now or believe you can shed so may tears and no amount of words can console you. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, his smile and all those things that are unique to him, since they are truly what made him. Christopher will always be with you, that gentle wind that dries your tears, that warm feel of an embrace when no one is near is his way of helping you heal. Do not try to answer the why, but focus on that he stood between all that is bad in the world to guard all that is innocent and weak. He is a hero and made the world a safer place in his time. If my family can do anything or help by just being an understanding ear, please do not hesitate to contact us. You have a police family that is far and wide, which mourns beside you and you are no alone.

To Smithsburg Police Department
My fellow officers, this lost will always be felt at roll call, on the road or just talking at a break. For those that were on the scene, understand that nothing you did or things you felt you should have done would have changed this out come, God had called Christopher. Like all of us that wear a badge, he knew the risk and like yourself served regardless, mourn your brother, but also dedicate your service in his name by being the best you possible can. Your Department is included in my prayers
