Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Vu Nguyen

I am a Sacramento resident and was so sad to hear the news of this fallen Deputy. My heart goes out to his wife and family, especially over the upcoming holidays.
Hopefully justice will be served for a man that gave his life for the protection of Sacramento residents. Thank you to all officers serving to make our city safer, we do appreciate what you do.

Hey brother, it is just now starting to sink in. I visit this site almost on a daily basis. I can't believe it's you this time. I got the call yesterday from Danny as I was finishing my shift. My heart sunk. I parked my patrol car, went into my office and cried. I had to quickly gather myself and give the swing shift briefing. I told them what had just happened to you. I told them that you were my buddy.

We drove up to Sac later in the evening where a lot of the fraternity alumni and wives met to support each other. We knew it was you, but they had not officially released your name yet. We all gathered around the TV for the 10 pm news, just knowing that the nightmare was about to begin. We were all silent and then your picture and name were on the TV. We cried again.

As an honor guard member for my department, unfortunately I have been to way too many police funerals. They all hurt, but yours will hurt the most. It will hurt for a long time.

You can rest easy brother knowing that your brothers and sisters in blue and black have your back. Your wife and family are in our prayers. They will not be alone during this difficult time.

You are a hero, a brother and a friend. We love you buddy!

Dear Family, Friends and Co-Workers'

May you find peace through your sorrow at the difficult time. Know that while we don't ever understand the loss, God has a perfect plan, while difficult to accept, it is in our faith that we can find comfort.

The citizens of Scaramento County thank you, the family, for your support of Office Nguyen so that he could serve the community, and do the work he was called to do. It is a terrible loss for everyone.
