"Letter From Heaven"
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!
Another young officer taken too soon by someone who gave no respect to life. What a tragedy and loss.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Eric worked with me in the mid 90s. He talked often about becoming a police officer. I'm glad he got to do what he wanted to do but saddened that his life ended at so young an age.

Stand down Eric, your watch has ended.

Officer Freeman, thank you very much for your service to our city. My deepest sympathies are with your family, friends, and fellow officers of the Huntsville Police Department. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this most difficult time.

Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Dear Lord,

In the difficult days ahead when those close to Officer Freeman are troubled, comfort them. When they are afraid, protect them. When they are discouraged, lift them up. Be their unending source of strength. Amen

It is very hard to find correct words to say. I have no worries regarding Officer Freeman, as I am certain that all good officers who have sacrificed rest in the loving arms of Almighty God. For his wife and five and five children, my sincere condolences, and my prayers for comfort and the strength to somehow find a way to survive this with God's help and guidance. May Almighty God be with you.

To his brothers and sisters who SERVE AND PROTECT US in law enforcement, my deep and sincere condolences, my gratitude and my respect. I think I have reached the point where I can no longer understand how and where you find the courage and resolve to come back to work each day. BUT I THANK GOD THAT YOU DO!

After that, I can only hope that Alabama is one of the states that actually has the sense to execute those who murder our police officers.

I'm just another tax paying citizen, a mother,...one you have served bravely, valiantly, unselfishly.

You didn't know me. I didn't know you...and it's unfortunate that it must take a moment such as this for us to realize who each and every one of you REALLY are. Fathers..brothers..sons..mothers..sisters..daughters. Protecting the very things YOU hold dear in YOUR lives..then going out and doing the same for us..every day.. and not asking anything in return, for you love what you do.

May we never take you for granted. Never.

God bless you and your family and may you rest in peace.
