Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Robin Tanner

I would first like to say that my prayers are with Robin’s family and with this unfortunate tragedy that Robin is in a safe place now. Now I would like to let everyone know who Robin was as a person, for those that did not know her personally.

I met Robin in June 2004 while I was employed with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Robin at that time was returning from a small break in law enforcement. I had the pleasure to have Robin ride with me for her observation period while she was in training. Having worked at the agency years before, she shared some war stories about her prior experience. She became a friend of mine from that point on.

Robin was a kind, thoughtful, and the most caring person that you could meet. She always remembered birthday’s, I could recall getting a birthday card in my box each year from Robin. She would offer her spare time to help a fellow deputy in need, whether it was to help a deputy move, give a ride to a fellow deputy or any other problem a fellow deputy had she, would do her best to help.

Even when I was in Special Ops she still took the time to call me personally to offer her condolences as I was dealing with a death in my own family.

Robin was a great asset to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and a great friend to everyone she knew. I know she will be missed dearly by everyone that had the opportunity to know Robin.

With that said, I will miss you greatly!
