To the family, friends, and officers that knew Deputy Triplett, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

"Hero In Blue" by Gerry Finney

Today you broke up a fight before it began
Bought a hot cup of coffee for a homeless man
Wiped the tears of lost child on a crowded avenue
Put handcuffs on a thief before he could get loose

Gave a ticket to an angry man who said he might just sue
Guess you can't please everyone when you've got a thankless job to do

Hero in blue
Hero in blue
What's it really like to do what you do?
Risk your life for a stranger
Stand behind the gun
Pay the price for justice and freedom for everyone
Hero in blue

Read it in the paper
See it in the news
Dying in the line of duty
Is a fight that we lose
Cause now someone's lost a mother or someone's lost a son
Who fought to keep our children safe like they were their own

Hero in blue
Hero in blue
What's it really like to do what you do?
Risk your life for a stranger
Stand behind the gun
Pay the price for justice and freedom for everyone
Hero in blue

Hero in blue

Our hero's gone to heaven
Where everything is fair
You won't need a badge and a gun up there

Hero in blue
Hero in blue
What's it really like to do what you do?
Risk your life for a stranger
Stand behind the gun
Pay the price for justice and freedom for everyone

I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME
MY NAME FOR ALL ETERNITY
RECOREDED HERE AT THIS HALLOWED PLACE
ALAS, MY NAME, NO MORE MY FACE

"IN THE LINE OF DUTY" I HEARE THEM SAY
MY FAMILY NOW THE PRICE WILL PAY
MY FOLDED FLAG STAINED WITH THEIR TEARS
WE ONLY HAD THOSE FEW SHORT YEARS

THE BADGE NO LONGER ON MY CHEST
I SLEEP NOW IN ETERNAL REST
MY SWORD I PASS TO THOSE BEHIND
AND PRAY THEY KEEP THIS THOUGHT IN MIND

I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME
AND WITH HEAVY HEART AND BENDED KNEE
I ASK FOR ALL HERE FROM THE PAST
DEAR GOD, LET MY NAME BE THE LAST
