Reflections for Police Officer Mark Bedard

There are no words that will suffice. No words that are adequate. I just want the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Mark Bedard to know there are folks all across this country that will lift you up in prayer before the Almighty.
May you each experience the eternal love and endless blessings of our Lord and Savior in the coming days.

My heart sank when I read about this. It reminds me of
how Amy Donovan died in the same manner on Oct. 31
three years ago. I pray for God's grace to be with the other officer involved and for his great need to be forgiven. As you know, accidents happen and to lose
one of your own is the greatest tragedy of all. Our hearts go out to the families who have to come to grips
with losing Mark. Judging from his picture, he is someone special and unforgettable. May Jesus'
healing hand be upon you as people all over the U.S.
lift you up to the Almighty One.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Bedard and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Officer Bedard has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Bedard, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Bedard is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

For those who pledge to uphold it, Freedom requires a sacrifice the protected will never know.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer Bedard, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

Mark,

I never had the privilege of getting to meet you but I have worked with a few people that knew you. Through their stories and the stories that I have seen in the media I can tell that you were a great husband, father, friend, and police officer. I only hope that we can reach the bar that you have set, as you have set it so high. My prayers are with you, your family, friends, and family at the Minneapolis Park Police Department, as well as the other officers involved in your accident. I know that you are looking over them and supporting them. Good speed Officer Bedard. You will be missed.
