I am sorry to hear of another tragic loss to our community. Having served outside of Balad for nearly a year, I known the danger you faced daily. My sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of this fallen hero. He is a true hero and will always be remembered for his bravery and dedication.

Tom, thank you so very much for all that you taught me. Thank you for all the memories. Sitting across the hall from you at the Det was always nice because I never had to turn my radio on because you played it loud enough for us both to hear. I liked that! Keep PTing as you always liked to do.

And don't worry about your family. We will be there for them, just as you would do the same for any of us. They are surrounded by people who love them.

I will miss you, Tom, you were a good man. You left a little bit of yourself with each of us, who knew you, to carry on and fight the fight! You served your country well. You can rest and find peace now... we'll take it from here, Sir.
