Hey bud,
I never met you but was fortunate to attend your funeral the other day. I was so impressed on how your faith was the driving force in your life and how it inspired so many others you encountered to know the Lord. It was apparent how much you touched to lives of those around you and was sad to see how much you are missed. God sure must need you up there more than here. I am encouraged to be a better husband, father and christian after hearing those who loved you speak. Thanks Tate

Having been a dispatcher for 17 years, I know how hard it is to lose an Officer. Sgt. Tate gave his life doing what I am sure he loved most. My heart goes out to his wife and family during this time of sorrow. May they find peace in knowing he now is watching over them as he stands his post on high. I offer grace and peace to his fellow officers and the support staff at the Casa Grande PD. Sgt. Tate may I offer you one final dispatch, " Sir, respond to Heavens Gate and make contact with your Lord and Savior. You now are 10-7, from your earthly patrol, which you have completed well. Rest in Peace.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Sergeant Lynch, especially to his wife. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Tateo, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Tate's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Tate's life was about so much more than the way he died. Tate will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Sergeant Lynch, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost five years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Mr. and Mrs. Lynch, Cade, Chet, Jamie, Christie and kids,

My heart is broken by your loss. I remember fondly the days playing basketball in your driveway or football in your street with Tate, Cade and Chet. Your family has already given so much to our community, your loss is so unfair. Although I have not seen him in many years, I cannot imagine Tate being anything less than the fine officer, husband and father I have read about.

Know that you are all in our hearts and you are not alone.

And Tate, Thanks.

"Special"
is the word that's used to describe
something one-of-a-kind like a hug or a sunset….
….or a person who spreads love with a smile or a kind gesture.

"Special"
describes people who act from their heart….
….and keep in mind the hearts of others.

"Special"
applies to something that is admired and precious….
….something which can never be replaced.

"Special"
is the word that best describes….YOU!

Gary and Chet,

Your family has served with honor and distinction. Know that you are my family's thoughts.

THE LAST INSPECTION

The policeman stood and faced his God, which for all must come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass.

Step forward now policeman, how shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?

The policeman squared his shoulders and sighed, No Lord I'll be straight,
Those of us who carry a badge can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays and I'm sorry I kept so silent,
and sometimes I've been a little tough, because those streets can be awfully violent.

But I've never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep,
and tried to keep my ethics clean walking the sewer of the street.

And I've never passed a cry for help just because I shook with fear,
and please God forgive me I've wept so many tears.

I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.
They never wanted me around except to calm their fears.

If you a place for me, Lord it need not be so grand.
I've never expected or had to much but if you don't I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne where the saints often trod.
And the policeman waited quietly for the judgment of his God.

Step forward now policeman you've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on heaven’s streets. You have done your time in hell.

Tate Lynch is my hero! From heaven bro, know I have appreciated your friendship since we were 4. Also know that God will be with your family and so will your loving and supportive friends. I am heartbroken, yet I know God is faithful. Thanks for your friendship. One of my favorite memories is the time you and I launched my dad's boat in his swimming pool. You always were so funny! God bless your family man. I know you are with him above.

The Bible says, “greater love hath no man that this, than he lay down his life for his friends!” Thank you Tate.
