I didn't know Sgt. Tate Lynch but did have many years with his father "Gary" at TPD. Mrs. Lynch, children and parents of Tate, I am so sorry for your loss and the ultimate sacrifice that Tate gave in protecting the lives and property of others. My family sends our prayers and most admirable thoughts to you. If Tate was anything like his father Gary then I know first hand that many people will for ever miss him.

“SUPER HERO”

A “SUPER HERO” TRAGICALLY DIED TODAY, THIS SUPER HERO IS NOT WELL KNOWN, BUT HE IS OUR “SUPER HERO.”

OUR “SUPER HERO” DOES NOT HAVE AN “S” ON HIS CHEST, NOR CAN HE STOP A SPEEDING BULLET WITH HIS BARE HANDS OR LEAP A BUILDING IN A SINGLE BOUND.

OUR “SUPER HERO” DOES NOT SWING FROM A WEB OR LIVE UNDER WATER, HE DOES NOT HAVE A FANCY NICKNAME.

YES, OUR “SUPER HERO”CANNOT DO THE THINGS THAT A NORMAL “SUPER HERO” CAN DO.

OUR “SUPER HERO” MISSES FAMILY GATHERINGS, GRADUATIONS, BIRTHDAYS, SPORTING EVENTS, ANNIVERSARY’S AND SOCIAL GATHERINGS OUR “SUPER HERO” WORKS LONG HOURS AWAY FROM HIS FAMILY FOR LOW PAY AND OFTEN TIMES WITH LITTLE OR NO “THANK YOU’S”.

OUR “SUPER HERO” DOES THIS WITHOUT ASKING BECAUSE HE LOVES TO DO IT, HE WOULD LOVE TO BE AT HOME WATCHING THE TELEVISION IN THE SAFETY OF HIS HOME WITH HIS FAMILY, BUT INSTEAD HE IS OUT CHASING, FIGHTING, WRESTLING, AND ARRESTING CRIMINALS.

OUR “SUPER HERO” DOES NOT WEAR TIGHT CLOTHING OR A MASK. NO OUR “SUPER HERO” WEARS A UNIFORM, A BADGE AND A GUN. OUR “SUPER HERO” IS CALLED A POLICE OFFICER. HE IS THE “SUPER HERO” THAT EVERYONE TAKES FOR GRANTED, AND HE IS OFTEN TIMES NOT THOUGHT OF AS A “SUPER HERO,” BUT...

“HE IS OUR SUPER HERO.”

IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR “SUPER HERO” SERGEANT TATE LYNCH #25, WHO ENDED HIS WATCH TRAGICALLY ON OCTOBER 25TH, 2007, IN FLORENCE, ARIZONA DOING WHAT HE LOVED TO DO.

On behalf of members of the New York State Corrections Department we send our deepest regret and sorrow to the family of Sergeant Lynch. Our prayers go out during these hard days. To the members of the Casa Granda Police Department we(NYSDOCS)to share the lost of a fellow member in BLUE. Continue to fight that element of negativity within your community, and use Sgt. Lynch as that tool to strive to educate and train the new and young officers entering the field of Law Enforcement.

Tate's life was one of service. First to our Lord, second to his family and 3rd to his community and job. He was dedicated and passionate about each one of these. I have been blessed by the Lynch family for years. Tate is watching us from Heaven, no doubt. For everyone else, our pain and grief continue. Now is our time to give back to Tate by taking care of his family and embracing those in grief. To the SWAT officers who were with him at the time of the accident: Tate respected each one of you and he does not want to see you "blaming yourselves" No more "I should have" statements. "Tater" would never stand for that and you know it. Tate wants to see positive come from his death. Draw strenght from God and from each other.
Never forget the 3 kids left behind. As they grow, share Tate stories with them. They know their dad was a Hero but lets show them that we will never forget.
