"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal."

As Trooper Graham now patrols with God's immortal police force, by his actions here on earth he has taken his well deserved place in the rolls of our honored heroes, whose names will live forever.

I honor Trooper David A. Graham's life and salute him in death.

I did not know Trooper Graham, but I know many men like him, so I feel that I do know him. Troopers have a special connection, regardless of their state. I have traveled Montana over and through, and half my heart lives in your state. I am saddened to hear of your loss. On behalf of my brothers and sisters in Kentucky, I offer my condolences to your family, and your Highway Patrol family. Rest in peace brother.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew trroper Graham, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

Though I met you but once, I knew immediatetly that you were a man of integrity and honor. You will carry my undying respect for having given all you had in service of those you were sworn to protect. You did so willingly and with great courage, and the price was high. Your name will echo through through the ranks of the Montana Highway Patrol forever.

I believe the Lord has a special place in Heaven for men like you. No doubt you have traded your gold badge for a gold crown, for blessed are the peace keepers.

My prayers and heart go out to your family.

To the family, friends and co-workers of Trooper Graham may all our prayers cover you. Your sorrow is deep and tears are many but comfort does come from God to help us when our loves ones leave us. Each of us has to find our own recovery, but those who hug us, cry with us, call, visit and pray with us are such a help in our time of sorrow. My tears are still flowing as daily I hurt at the lost of my son, but I know his desire would be for us to go forward, take care of his sons and find joy. So hard, but I know he would not want me to quit or lose sight of what is ahead. "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:26.

Thank you for supporting Tropper Graham in his daily work to provide a safer world for all of us.

A big hug from our family to yours,

Cathy C. Carter

I had the privilege of getting to know Trooper Graham quite well as we attended police academy together. I never once heard him complain, but rather, he was always equal to the task of resolving conflict and maintaining peace in a calm, confident fashion. I am thankful I took the opportunity to stop and visit with David several weeks ago when I was passing through Kalispell. He told me about how he and his wife had recently purchased a home. David was enthusiastic about the direction his career was heading, and was happy about life in general. David Graham's work ethic, demeanor, and professionalism should serve as an example to us all. I am proud to have had him as a classmate and to have served with him. My heart is heavy today, as my thoughts and prayers will always be with his family.
