Reflections for Deputy Constable Jason Norling

So many people and so many faces you will never know how much you will be missed. Today all police officers shed a tear for one of our own. We salute you and thank you for dedication
to our profession.

May God bless you, your family and our brothers and sisters
at precinct 5.

Your watch is ended. May our Heavenly Father watch over your family and friends during this tragic time? May your soul walk carefully and proudly into everlasting life. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in God’s peace my friend, you deserve it. These are "American Heroes" who just yesterday were women and men just doing their job!

Deputy Jason Norling was a true professional who was dedicated to Lisa, Ty, his mother and his job. He would arrive to work early and perform his duties without questions. You wore your motor wings with pride and rode with honor. In the short period of time that you were with us, you became a model motor officer respected by many. You may be gone from this earth but you will live on in our hearts and prayers.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve with you.
You are deeply missed.

Jason,

I never had the privelage of knowing you, however I do know your brother, which means you were a fine police officer. I proudly wore that uniform along with Dirk Knearem who has also become an angel that is watching over us. Rest in peace Jason.

I think that my husband said it best to me today, "It's in our blood...not everybody can do what we do, Being a Police Officer chooses us, we don't choose it. It is what we are born to do. From our first breath to our last God has a plan for us, Our's is to protect and to serve"

I knew Jason from working at Pct. 5 and I have a great memory of him and Ty, which I promised that I would never reveal (REN-FEST).
On Monday Oct. 1, 2007, Pct. 5 lost one of it's finest and the world lost a TRUE HERO.
To his family, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I also want to thank you for your sacriface. My mother always tells me that it takes a strong person to be a Police Officer, but it takes a stronger person to be the family member of a Police Officer.
Please know that your unshelfishness made Harris County a better place, a safer place.

God Bless you Deputy Jason Norling

To the family of Deputy Jason Norling,
The funeral service today for Jason was very warm, yet upbeat. I did not know Jason but learned today what an outstanding person he was; professional, caring, devoted to his family, co-workers and the citizens he served everyday. I attempted to speak to Lisa and his Mother following the service but got too choked-up when the opportunity came. I wish to offer my heartfelt sympathy on your loss.
Jason, Rest in peace my brother. Your tour of duty here is done. You are in a wonderful place now. Enjoy your reward.

My husband Mike and I were friends of Jason in the early 90's. Unfortunately we lost touch with him over time. We were shocked and saddened at the news of his death on TV this morning. He was a great guy! Our hearts go out to his wife and his family.

Heartfelt prayers!
