David:

You made us proud in so many ways! We watched you achieve so many of your dreams and achievements over the last twelve years. Becoming a police officer was one of the best for you, we know. You touched many lives in your profession. We watched as you gave your life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and be baptized. The angels in Heaven surely rejoiced with us that day!

We will always hold you close to our hearts. There are many reminders of you as we go about our days. Perhaps the biggest reminder is when we look at our little grandson whose looks and personality are so much like yours. He loved you so much and was so proud of you! Perhaps he will miss you most of any of us.

Thank you, David, for sharing our lives for so many years.
We will always love you like a son.

David you were always so happy and nice. I remember when I was a security guard at Temple Mall and you would work extra duty there. You took the time to talk to me about police work and the amount of effort and hard work it took. I remember you showing me how to do traffic stops on parked cars in the parking lot. You will never know how much that meant to me. After I became a cop you would always stop out on my traffic stops, always even on your way home just to make sure I was code four. I remember the last time I seen you, I was coming out of Rayburn Ct. in Belton,TX and I had left my overheads on and you stopped for me and I was looking at you like what are you doing, we had a good laugh about that. I am going to miss you David and I hope that I can amount to half the police Officer you were.

Dave,

Well brother, where do I begin? It has taken a while for me to build up the courage to leave words on this page. Life is a funny thing; you never know what it has in store for you or what challenges it will bring next. What I admired about you most was how you faced those challenges head on, with that trademark smile on your face. Dave your enthusiasm and can do attitude will be greatly missed.

I read a quote the other day and I think it is appropriate:

In just a moment, a second, God reaches down and plucks them from this earth, a good one he must say, such a good soul I must have it for myself! In the moment, our hearts are deeply hurt, yet God comes to us, in our hurting heart and bring such comfort, peace and let's us know that for this short time that Officer Camden was here he did those noble deeds as were set for him to do, now it is up to us to carry on, to make sure, that when God comes for us, we also will be plucked by his hand for service in Heaven, our eternal home, where we will be together for eternity.

God's special blessing on family and friends who's love one serve to keep us safe. Rest dear love one, ride the vaseness of Heaven.

I wish I could put into words how much you are missed. I remember the first time I met you when I was dispatching for Temple PD and you came up to the com center. I noticed right away your last name was "Camden" because your brother is one of my best friends. I remember you telling me, "Oh, I'm the good looking brother!" It still makes me smile remembering that day, because I gained a new friend.
The world lost a wonderful person and an amazing police officer on September 14th. I feel honored to have known you and I know your watching over us from heaven.

David, I am honored to have known you for the time I did. I especially appreciate the time you and your unit invited me to sit at a table and eat lunch with ya'll one day while I was eating alone at Jody's!! Dave- It was an honor to have worked with you. It took a while for it to sink in...it didn't until I had to tell Bill. Only a war could keep him from attending your final farewell. No matter what mood I was in you where always there with a smile. I don't know how you managed to always be in an upbeat mood but you touched the lives of many! You will be greatly missed and NEVER forgotten. To your family, especially your boys-our prayers are with you. Being a Police Officer, you never really know exactly how many lives you touch because you deal with so many people each and every day. We know that you, David, touched so many lives in a good way. Your work with the citizens you served stood out because you weren’t only a great Officer, but a great person. David, being a good friend of your brother, I learned how much you meant to your family. Listening to your brother talk of you made me wish I had a brother.

I remember when I met you the first time; you took me and my wife shooting after I joined the Killeen Police Department Academy. After meeting you, I realized why Tommy felt so highly of you. I fed off of your energy and you made me anxious to get through the academy and hit the streets as soon as possible.

No words can be used to describe how much you will be missed. You did more good in your time as a law enforcement officer, than most people do in a lifetime. You were a brother in blue that shined above the rest. Keep shinning brother and Godspeed.
