Our prayers are with the men/women of the Odessa Police Department and with the families of those slain. No doubt many in the community were "shocked" to learn that they did not live in "Mayberry." These men are heroes. We will hold you all up in prayer at our police Bible study this weekend.
God Bless!

Must have been devastating for your brother to be the
first on the scene and having to transport you to the hospital. He did all he could to help you, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough. What an animal the
murderer is to take 3 officers from their families. Our
hearts go out to all the survivors. Thanks for being
willing to wear the uniform.

I want to thank Corporal Marquez for his sacrifice for the many citizens of Odessa as well as the State of Texas. It takes a special kind of person to be a police officer. My family is full of police officers and while this is a tragedy I hope it will serve as inspiration to others like me who dream of one day putting on the badge. I also hope that it will be a wake up call to other officers that no call is "ROUTINE." I believe Heaven holds a special place for officers like Corporals Marquez, Jones, and Gardner, who put on a uniform many people hate and don't respect and still serve and protect the very people that dislike them. May their sacrifices never be forgotten. My prayers go out to their families and co-workers as well as all of the brave men and women who put on that uniform, never knowing for sure whether or not it will be their last.

One of our best was taken from us on March 1, 2006. We still mourn the loss. I can't begin to imagine the grief the Odessa PD is going through with the loss of three officers as a result of one event.

The families and friends of these three men are in my thoughts and prayers.

I read of your bravery, Cpl. Marquez. Your fight for your fellow officers, and the fight for your life, will NOT go in vain. May God Bless your family, and protect your brothers. We needed another guardian and your promotion is accepted in silence. We'll take it from here.

My full prayers go out to you and your family, not only was one family impacted in Odessa but three at once. Not to mention, the friends, brothers in blue and citizens of this community. A tradegy of this magnitude is devastating to all, and I just want to say that even though you are suffering a horrific loss, that your loss is felt by many and please take comfort in knowing that people care and will be praying for the Odessa PD.
