Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Corporal John "Scott" Gardner

A life lived in service to others is a living sacrifice to the Lord and to His creation. No matter how short, nor how tragic, a life such as that lived by Officer Gardner, devoted to the protection of others and the suppression of evil, is a life well-spent. We appreciate his service and trust that healing will begin for his heart-broken loved ones. Go rest high on that mountain Officer Gardner.

I'm sorry about the loss that took place on that horrible day. I too, lost an officer in the line of duty. He was my dad. It will get better, I promise! God Bless and you are all in my prayers!

June 17, 2004 was a day on which three of my fellow officers were murdered. As far as I know, this is still the largest loss of life in one incident for law enforcement since 9/11. I pray the third Odessa officer lives and no other department has to go through losing this many officers in one incident ever again. Also, my prayers are with everyone involved in this terrible, tragic incident. God bless all of you.
