This is why I hate reading about domestic violence calls. Only God can serve justice in such a case as
this. It is deeply disturbing. Thank you for having the
courage to wear that uniform and I am so sorry your
life ended this way.

I want to thank Corporal Gardner for his sacrifice for the many citizens of Odessa as well as the State of Texas. It takes a special kind of person to be a police officer. My family is full of police officers and while this is a tragedy I hope it will serve as inspiration to others like me who dream of one day putting on the badge. I also hope that it will be a wake up call to other officers that no call is "ROUTINE." I believe Heaven holds a special place for officers like Corporals Marquez, Jones, and Gardner, who put on a uniform many people hate and don't respect and still serve and protect the very people that dislike them. May their sacrifices never be forgotten. My prayers go out to their families and co-workers as well as all of the brave men and women who put on that uniform, never knowing for sure whether or not it will be their last.

My full prayers go out to you and your family, not only was one family impacted in Odessa but three at once. Not to mention, the friends, brothers in blue and citizens of this community. A tradegy of this magnitude is devastating to all, and I just want to say that even though you are suffering a horrific loss, that your loss is felt by many and please take comfort in knowing that people care and will be praying for the Odessa PD.

There are no words that can express my deep sorrow for your tragic and unimaginable losses. After 20 years as a reserve officer in L.A., I am now a civilian employee for a small department in Washington. Though I am no longer officially an officer, in my heart and soul I remain part of that special family. My heart truly aches for Odessa PD and the families and friends of Corporal Jones, Corporal Gardner, and Corporal Marquez. My tears flow at the thought of your pain and sorrow, and my prayers go out to all of you. Your fine officers have joined many who have gone before them and now watch over all of us. To Corporals Jones, Gardner, and Marquez, thank you for your dedicated service. Rest easy, my brothers. We have the watch.

With great sadness I come to this site today, to find not only one new Fallen Hero, but 3 of you. My deepest sympathy goes out to your family , friends, entire department, and to the citizens that you all so honorably gave the ultimate sacrifice for, as you served and protected them. There really are no words good enough or perfect enough, to really express the honor you all deserve, nor the sadness that fills my heart. I can promise you and your fmaily, that you all will not be forgotten. I know the Angels have carried you all far into the heavens above, where as you will be 10-4 forever more in Gods loving arms. "A Hero does not become a Hero by their death, but by how they lived their life." God Bless you All!!!

May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.

My sincerest condolences to the family, friends and co- workers of Corporal Gardner and my humble thanks for his protection and service.

Although I did not personally know Cpl Gardner, it does not make this situation any easier to deal with. Today we lost a hero in West Texas and he will forever be missed. My prayers and sympathy go out to all those involved in the tragedy and may justice be served on the man who caused such pain.

Rest in Peace Cpl Gardner, your time here was precious to us all.
