There was yet another traggic day in American history yesterday and I can't help but miss you and think of what we went through that morning of August 15th. Last night I held your granddaughter a little tighter hoping that your love and protection would beam through me and surround her from ever knowing the pain that the people in Boston are feeling. . . . Losing you was the worst thing that has ever happened to me, and I can only pray that nothing ever gets as bad as that. Thinking of you always.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 6th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for the solace of all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Dear Sgt.Harrison: You have not been forgotten.Tonight your DUI squad held a memorial dinner in remembrance of the 5th year anniversary of the night you were violently taken from us after a successful DUI checkpoint. Thank you for your many years of service to the citizens of Hillsborough County and for your leadership in the fight against underage drinking and impaired driving. I know you are looking down and smiling, when you see what a great job your dedicated DUI deputies are doing, saving lives every night by keeping impaired drivers off the road. We remember your passion, dedication and your smile. We miss you! Rest in Peace.

4 years. . . . And a few changes. I know you didn't want me to change my last name so I just moved it over :), like grandma. I miss you terribly. I wish so bad you could be here to see me. Don't want to toot my own horn but you would be proud. You now have an amazing son in law, he walks around the house and whistles just like you! Not to mention he loves working out like you too. . . and of course he loves me with all his heart like you :). I see so much of you in him . . . that's how I know I got a good one. I can only hope that you have left your mark on enough men here that they learn the importance of being a great father to their daughters. Through all of your efforts you have provided me with an emotional gift that will last a life time.

To the others that have left comments, thank you. Each message makes the pain that much easier to deal with.

I still miss you so much. I miss your humor and your guidance. I can still hear your voice in my head from all of great talks we had while working in Echo. I so thoroughly enjoyed the years that I worked for you and I learned so much from you. You were a wonderful supervisor, a great mentor and a beloved friend. I often drive down Kings Av while on patrol and say a quiet 'hi' under my breath as I pass that tree. I think about you often and know that you are watching over us and I try to make you proud. You will always be remembered.

In 2007 I sat amongst a crowd at a youth function where you were being honored for your dedication to the youth in my community. As a child, I heard different names of the men and women who worked to convict my fathers killer but never had I put two and two together. After leaving the function the name Ron Harrison kept popping up as if there was something I had missed. So, I did a Google search. I know why your name had so much meaning.

In 1983, Sherriff Walter Heinrich and Assistant State Attorney Mark Ober wrote you a letter complimenting your work in my father's homicide investigation.

I was only 9 years old at the time you received this letter, but please know if I could have scribbled my name on that letter in appreciation for your work I would have. Thank you!

Sgt.,

On this 3 year anniversary of your passing, we all mourn for the loss of such a good family member, friend, and mentor. You are never far from out thoughts. You would be so proud of your family! We have kept close with them, especially Ronnie. May you rest in peace until the Resurrection, and we will see you again.

P.S. thanks for the Cayenne Pepper recipe that you gave Lisa for her lasagna, one of the last times we spoke. She uses it every time she makes lasagna, in memory of you. And, it tastes as good as you said it would.

With Love,
Brian and Lisa Noland

Sgt Harrison,

Over the past couple of days I have watched so much coverage on the TPD shootings and I realized that I haven't been on this page recently, and for that I am sorry. I hear the news coverage and I think of you and your family. I just wanted to let you know that I have taken a lot of your advice and placed it into my day to day job. I miss seeing you around the district giving me that look that I had so come use to getting.

Rest in peace Sgt., you have not been forgotten for your service and sacrifice.

As I sit here tonight thinking of the families of the 2 TPD Officers killed today, I think of you. I can't believe it has been almost 3 years. I think of the conversations we had, not about the job, but family and children. It never failed every time I would see you, you would ask how the kids were. Thanks for being a friend, and you will never be forgotten. God Bless

Sergeant, it feels like just yesterday you were taken from us. I still remember the 1st time I met you. We were working together on a Checkpoint along 56th St. in TT. It was my first one and I was very nervous. You took me under your wing to guide me through the process and show me the ropes. you showed me some excellent tactics and gave me great advice. What you taught me then, I still use and remember to this day. Rest in peace, and I know we'll meet again.
