My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to your wife, family, friends, fellow brother and sister officers, entire department, and to the citizens you so honorably served to protect. Also to the paramedics whom were injured while trying to get you and your fellow detective aide. My prayers also extend to your fellow detective's family and friends, where as he also gave as you did, the ultimate sacrifice. I know angel wings cradled you both gently ,as they took you both high into the heavens above, where you are both 10-4 forever more, in God's loving care. Another senseless tragedy....losing an officer by the hand of someone who has no value for life. We will pray and send they sympathies to all who knew Det. Smith and his family. There is not a thing that officers do today that is normal or "just a regular traffic stop"....but they still get up in the morning and get dressed and kiss their loved ones goodbye not knowing if that will be the last time. What has society become?
A " Part Of America Died,"
Somebody killed a policeman today,
And part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
And spend many long lonely nights.
The beat he walked was a battle field too
just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
In your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And stands at each new rookies' side.
He answered the call,of himself and gave his all,
And a part of America died.

We will send prayers and know that God will wrap you all in his arms and comfort you. Det. Smith was a HERO. and he is watching you from above.
SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. GOD BLESS YOU ALL

I pray for these two officers, their families, and this department that has suffered such a loss. I don't know if I am right or wrong, but right now I am praying that the monsters that did this will be back in cages by night fall. The reason I say back in cages, is due to the fact that as many times that these tragedies happen, often times is one of these wasted humans that get to roam the earth. We arrest them and they get out and do wicked things. Some people are just not worth saving. This country will not get any better until we learn to take out the trash for good.

As if I wasn't already horrified enough what with the two Deputies from our agency that were shot this week, one of which was killed, now I read this....two more veteran officer's lives taken in the line of duty. It can't get any more senseless than this.

My deepest sympathies to your family, your Department, and your friends. I hope that you did not suffer, sir. Godspeed.
