Reflections for Sergeant Christopher Reyka

I am sorry a low life has taken your life my friend. I am aware we did not know each other personally, but my friend Dennis will show you around in heaven. I pray your family may have some ease during this time, and may god lead your brothers and sisiters to the trash that took you from us. Rest my brother, may you finally rest at god's right hand. We now have the watch, and may I see you in heaven one day.

I am nearly at a loss for words. It seems like it was just yesterday that Conway and I were having 40 with you and the other Area 1 Alpha Shift Sergeants at DD. Everyone always spoke so highly of you not only as a supervisor, but as a truly 10-8 cop as well. Your presence and service will be missed Sgt. Reyka. My thoughts and prayers go out especially to your family and friends in this dark hour. I know that the cowards responsible for this will be brought to justice. Rest in peace brother, we've got the watch now.

Chris, we worked together for several years. When I was a detective in Pompano Beach C.I. our desks were next to each other, and when I had questions, you and Marty would always lead me in the right direction. After we got promoted, we worked together on the Alpha shift for a short time. When I worked on the Charlie Shift I would ask you on my way out if you wanted the Sgt's phone and you would give me that look "No" and say, "I guess so". You also reminded me that family always comes first. We will all miss you and my family will pray for you and yours.
