Dear Richards Family,

Please accept our condolences during this most difficult time for you. Officer Richard was a courageous hero who will be remembered for his service to his community & his country. My brother, an Officer, was killed 7 wks. ago tonight by a 15 yr. old with a rifle from his bedroom window. Frank left behind his wife & 2 1/2 yr. old daughter. Although life will never be the same for any of us, we feel lucky to have had him for the 32 yrs. we did. Remember all the wonderful memories of your loved on and know that those will live on with you forever. Our thoughts & prayers are with his wife & children during this tragic event.

Sincerely,

Amy Denzinger Cook

Rest in Peace, Chief! Your actions speak louder than words- that you would ultimately give your life in an attempt to assist your troops! Your sacrifice will never be forgotten and should serve as a standard among leaders- you may work across the hall, but you are still a cop, doing what we do!
Watch over your family and those who had the honor to know you and help them through this difficult time.

The following is a Fallen Officer's Prayer that was found while a Pueblo Police Officer visited the N.Y.P.D. Museum & Ground Zero in 2005 Officer's Prayer

Fallen Officer’s Prayer

I Never Dreamed It Would Be Me.
My Name For All Eternity.
Recorded Here At This Hallowed Place.
Alas, My Name, No More My Face.
'In The Line of Duty' I Hear Them Say.
My Family Now The Price To Pay.
My Folded Flag Stained With Their
Tears.
We Only Had Those Few Short Years.
The Badge No Longer On My Chest.
I Sleep Now In Eternal Rest.
My Sword I Pass To Those Behind And
Pray They Keep This Thought In Mind.
I Never Dreamed It Would Be Me.
And With A Heavy Heart And Bended
Knee, I Ask For All Here From The
Past...
Dear God, Let My Name Be The Last.
We will keep Chief of Police Richard and his family and loved ones in our prayers and hope these words will be able to comfort them later in time. The next few days and weeks will be dark for all of you but please remember he was a hero and that he left memories, I am sure that those will carry you through for a very long time. Memories will always be remembered.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
