Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Russel Timoshenko

I am so sorry for your loss. I prayed for your recovery but god had other plans for you. You are indeed a hero. May you rest in peace Officer Timoshenko. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, friends and co-workers, God bless you all.

Russell, your loss is felt by many. Even those who never met you such as myself have an understanding of the type of man that you were. You have been described as an outstanding young man, and I have no doubt that you would have continued to be one of the FINEST as you continued your career. My promise to you is that we as a department will never forget what we have lost. We welcome your family into ours and will be there to support them in their grief and time of need, now and forever. Be at peace and go with god, your tour is over. God Bless You.

I have sat and prayed for this officers recovery. I watched in tears the video's. This is a young man who is a year younger then my oldest daughter. who came here as a child from Russia who gave his life protecting his adopted city. My heart is in sorrow for a loss so young and for parents that now must face a nightmare that no parent should ever face. My prayers for the entire NYPD

There is never a right time or age for a member of law enforcement to make the ultimate sacrifice. PO Timoshenko was just 23 and had his whole life and career ahead of him. Senseless tragedy like this make one question their commitment to law enforcement. I choose to honor my commitment to law enforcement and to be inspired by LEO like PO Timoshenko.

This is not a goodbye, but a temporary parting until we meet again.

Officer Timoshenko, thank you for your service and dedication to keeping the residents of New York City safe. I have many family members that reside in the City and I'm grateful to you and all of the NYPD. You made the ultimate sacrifice and you will never be forgotten. This is nothing more, and nothing less, than an expression of sympathy and gratitude to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Timoshenko, for his valiant performance of a job that needs to be done. We were praying for his recovery, but that was not to be. The New York metropolitan area is less secure now that Officer Timoshenko's watch has ended.

Rest in peace, Officer Timoshenko.

I never knew you but I read the websites every day praying you would make it. It saddens me to see that after five days of fighting bravely, God saw fit to call you home. We can only pray that the people of New York levy the appropriate punishment for all three of these cowards. It won't bring you back, but it will make it right. God bless you, your family, and the NYPD.
