To Officer Wheeler's family, friends, and co-workers: I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. I am a Montgomery County Police officer and less than 2 months ago, I lost a friend and fellow shiftmate, Officer Luke Hoffman. I still think about Luke everyday. I know that Officer Wheeler has a special place in all of your hearts. He now has a place in mine as well. I know that Luke has welcomed him. My deepest sympathy to you all.

What a loss....I'm saddened by his death and I only met him a handful of times. I can't even imagine how hard it must be for his wife, family, and the officers that knew him well. It seems almost as if everytime I saw him, he was at or near the mall. If heaven has a mall, I know he's patrolling it! Scott is truly a hero of Howard County and I'm sure he's up in heaven with Randy Brightwell and Roger Cassell looking down on us making us safe...

SCOTT WAS A GOOD OFFICER AND FRIEND. HE WILL BE MISSED GREATLY. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYER GO OUT TO HIS WIFE AND HIS FAMILY. HE WAS A GREAT GUY AND AVID FOOTBALL FAN. I ONLY HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH HIM A FEW TIMES WHEN HE WORKED OVERTIME WITH MY SQUAD. HE WORKED NIGHTS AS I DO BUT DIIFERENT NIGHT. OPOSITE OF MY SCHEDULE. I ALWAYS TALKED FOOTBALL WITH HIM WHEN I WOULD SEE HIM IN COURT. SCOTT WAS A DIE HARD OAKLAND RAIDERS FAN.SCOTT LOVED FOOTBALL AND HE DID HAVE RAVENS SEASON TICKETS.I WOULD SEE HIM AT THE RAVENS GAMES AND HE WOULD BE DRESSED UP IN HIS SILVER AND BLACK.IF THE RAVENS WEREN'T PLAYING THE RAIDERS I WOULD JOKE WITH HIM AND TELL HIM HE WAS AT THE WRONG GAME. HE HAD A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR AND WAS A GREAT GUY. HE LOVED TO LAUGH. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS WIFE AND FAMILY. GOD BLESS, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN AND ALWAYS MISSED. FOR YOU SCOTT GO RAIDERS!

Our job is a dangerous, but, yet rewarding. It takes a special human being to take on the duties of a Law Enforcement Officer. Your untimely death reminds us that we have to live each day to the fullest and always remember to tell your family that you love them for the future is unknown. May you Rest in Peace knowing that you did your job admirably. God bless you, your family, and the officer's of the Howard County Police Dept.
