I have already left one reflection to this memorial page for this hero, Officer West. I have sat here day after day and read each and everyone of the thoughts, prayers and feelings of others who have done the same.
One read that she felt like she might be intruding here at this special place.
No one is ever intruding, we know that each and every person here in this memorial that we write about will understand some part of our feelings that we leave here.
I used to be, Canon City Internet Radio (which is not on the air at this time) and everyone of our members held all law enforcement, military, fire fighters, emts, and all who wore a badge, we hold them, close to our hearts and in our prayers. No, we may not know them personally, but we understand what they stand for and that they go to their jobs each and every day knowing what might be facing them. They do their jobs because they love what they do not because they have to.
Sorry if I rant on and on but this is a very special place for all to leave their thoughts and prayers and NO ONE is every intruding. In time, their familes, friends, loved ones can come here to this memorial and read what others have left. What a wonderful place and GOD BLESS YOU ALL. If you will notice the reflections are from all around the world and from coast to coast. Not all the ones that have left their reflections knew Officer West personally.

What a sad situation. My thoughts and prayers go out to the West family. I sincerely hope that the scum that took Officer West's life never sees the light of day again. There are too many Officers dying for nothing!

Officer West, neither you nor your sacrifice will ever be forgotten. Watch over your family giving them the love, guidance and support they will need as they begin this long, dark journey without you. Watch over your brothers and sisters in uniform.

Rest in peace.

Tragedies visited upon others always make me a bit sad, especially when it involves the taking of the life of a officer of the peace. I can't begin to reconcile the incomprehensible irony that a person who has dedicated his/her life to the service and protection of a community, as had Officer West, suffers his death by the hand of a member of that community; someone who directly benefits from that effort. In Jason West's case I'm more than sad, I'm broken-hearted... and enraged.
Mrs. West,
I don't know what it is about your son, I'd never met him, but this tragedy feels so personal. Every time I see his face grief washes over me again, and I mourn, for you, for his father, sister and all who's lives he blessed.
My deepest sympathies for your indescribable loss. Know that I'll be holding you, Jason and yours in my heart and prayers. God will bless you all.
Officer West,
Darkness took you from this world but there is a mountain of light that has formed in honor of your spirit. Celebrate heaven and please guide those who seek justice.

Officer West,

You are truly a hero who didn't think twice about protecting all citizens of Cleveland Heights, even the scum that you were sent to protect on your last call. You are the epitomy of what it means to be a police officer; to not think twice about rushing to a fight, a gun call, a robbery, or any unknown call for help. I only pray that you watch over all of us as we protect all citizens, including those who claim to not want us around.

To your family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Outsiders do not understand what families of officers go through on a daily basis, which is why we are such a close community, a trait known only to our military and safety forces. We will always be at your side, just as Jason is at ours.

To the Cleveland Heights Police Department, as a graduate of the Cleveland Heights Police Academy, I was trained by some of the best officers in this country. On every tour, I take with me the lessons learned on Noble Rd. Your professionalism is a model to us all. I am sure that I speak for all members of the Garfield Heights Police Department in saying we stand by all of you, your brothers and sisters in blue.

Father in Heaven, welcome Jason into Paradise, where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Your Son, as he has truly did his time in Hell.

God be with you Jason.

Garfield Heights Police Department

Jason,
Where did the time go? When years fly by like minutes, it seems like yesterday when we were laughing and talking about our innocent and carefree lives. Now I'm writing to you here on this page. I'll miss your positivity. I'll miss your sense of humor. I'll miss your laugh. But above all, I'll miss knowing your not out there helping or protecting your family, friends and co-workers and serving the community in a career that you loved and devoted your life to. You are a excellent man and an excellent friend. And for this I will always regret not making time to see you more often. I will always remember the good times we shared. You are missed. We'll always have Miss Furey's art class!!!

Condolences and heartfelt sorrow to your family, friends and co-workers.

When I was in Iraq, the only thing that made it bearable was that I knew there were people at home watching my own family. Officer West, even though you and I never met, know that your sacrifice will never be forgotten. I give my heartfelt condolances and sympathies to his family, and know that you and Officer West are in my prayers, now and forever.
